Improving Lives at Every Stage of Kidney Health

We support people living with kidney disease across Florida through education, support groups, and direct assistance for chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and transplant care. We work alongside patients, families, social workers, healthcare providers, and partners to bridge gaps in care, connect people to resources, and advocate for better kidney health outcomes in Florida. Through community events and partnerships, we raise awareness and fund the programs that make patient support possible. Our focus is simple: clear guidance, real support, and stronger care for kidney patients throughout Florida.

The NKF of Florida is a vital resource for kidney patients and their families – helping them learn how to cope with the physical and psychological aspects of the disease and providing them with hope for the future.

SUPPORTING OUR PEOPLE

Taking Action for Kidney Health in Florida

Kidney disease affects millions of people in Florida. It is often caused by diabetes and high blood pressure and can lead to chronic kidney disease, dialysis, or the need for a kidney transplant. Living with kidney disease brings medical decisions, financial strain, and long-term uncertainty. No one should have to navigate that alone. The National Kidney Foundation of Florida supports people living with kidney disease across the state. We provide education, support groups, and direct assistance, and we work alongside healthcare partners to improve access to care and outcomes for kidney patients throughout Florida.

Patient Support

Patients need information they can understand and support they can use. We help patients and families learn about kidney disease, dialysis, and kidney transplantation. We do not replace medical care. We strengthen it by helping patients stay informed, supported, and engaged in their health.

We offer:
● Education and one-on-one patient navigation
● Support groups across Florida
● Financial assistance through our Direct Aid and Hawthorn Fund programs
● Connection to local and national kidney resources

Connecting Care Across Florida

Kidney care often involves many providers and systems. When those systems do not connect, patients are the ones affected.

We bridge gaps between patients, families, social workers, healthcare providers, dialysis centers, transplant programs, and community partners. We collaborate with medical companies and professional organizations, including the Florida Renal Association, to advocate for patients and support kidney care professionals across Florida.
